Carson loves to draw and make things. He spends most of his time reading, playing basketball, playing games with Landon, and building with Legos. He also enjoys writing and tolerates playing the piano. He does enjoy playing The Entertainer and sits down several times a day to play it through for us all to enjoy. He loves to build things with cardboard, craft sticks, and hot glue. He also likes to draw and paint.

He likes soccer and swimming and enjoys his Scouts activities. He is starting folk dancing in the fall (not his own choice, but I'm sure he's going to like it!) and he will play the trumpet in the elementary band.

Carson loves exploring and experimenting, he loves to laugh and tell jokes, he loves being wild and crazy with his friend Zander. He is fairly easy going and is greatly improving in the not-piddling department. He's good at math and does his lessons with very little help from me and gets almost all of the problems correct every time. He enjoys baking cookies and is our main cookie baker other than me. He likes to make chocolate chip cookies, ginger snaps, and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

Carson also has begun keeping his room neat and clean. He makes his bed every morning and keeps his things picked up. He and Joel have been great examples of this to Landon and Isaac.

Carson is silly and funny and loud and loves to play with the twins. He loves to eat ice cream and is often found to be snitching whatever treats we have.

We love having Carson around - he makes everyone smile, is always a willing playmate, and openly enjoys hugs and kisses (he usually needs two or three before going to bed at night.). We love our Carson boy and are so glad he's in our family!

May 2019

In May we started meeting with 5 other families from my Charlotte Mason book club to do a bi-monthly nature study/outing. One of the first was to a beautiful area of Utah Lake where the mud was thick and the babies naked (eventually...). The water was shallow and perfect for toddler frolicking.

Suddenly everyone likes to chew gum. I started years ago buying lifesavers wintergreen mints for a sacrament meeting "treat" and then expanded to gum, and it works great. I usually have kids asking or sneaking both throughout the week, but it has still retained its Sunday excitement. Sometimes I worry that my kids will attend their first sacrament meeting away from home and suddenly start dying for a mint that isn't to be had. I don't know if the idea makes me laugh or if it makes me want to make sure I send them off to college with a year's supply of them.

Levi got mysteriously sick and was couch bound for a day or two. Sad but also awesome! :) I do love snuggling him and he only lets me when he is sick. Alex didn't get it.

Everyone suddenly got a hankering to make lap desks so they pulled out wood scraps and pencils and started measuring and marking. Joel and Carson did complete theirs, they glued some little pieces of wood to make pencil holders, they did a great job with Boyd's help.

Carson and Landon both played soccer and did so great. Carson is getting pretty good, he mostly plays defense and is a formidable player! Landon played hard even with his broken arm!

New Sunday Duds.

Making snickerdoodles at the Liddle's house on a Sunday evening.

The nightly getting upstairs for bed routine.

After playing Magic with Preston and Landon Call in Washington, everyone got the free starter packs of cards from a local game store. I told them I wouldn't let them buy more cards so they started drawing their own.

At our favorite place, Eagle Park. We rode bikes here, it's about a 2 mile round trip.

I found something on Facebook Marketplace I Needed to buy, but it was all the way up in Clearfield, or Bountiful, I can't remember exactly, so we took a day trip to Hill AF Base and also to Gilgal Gardens, this wacky sculpture garden downtown.

And Landon finally got his cast off! It was stinky and dirty and I hope this can be his one and only broken bone!
